-There will be snacks available upon arrival at Brigadoon Friday night, but not a full supper. Please ensure you have supper before arriving.

Heart Talk is an annual informal conference organized by Cardiac Care Team members for families of children/youth with Heart Disease. The aim is to provide parents, siblings and Bravehearts with accurate information about heart issues and the impact on the family’s daily living activities. It is a chance to meet others with similar challenges.
This year Heart Talk is being held at Brigadoon.
Brigadoon is a recreation camp facility in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley providing space for special camp programs, helping address needs of families with remarkable
young people. It provides opportunities for families to mix, mingle and share their life experiences
Date: September 14, 15 &16, 2012
Fee: $50.00 per family for the weekend
*Registration for overnight cabin space is limited and available on a first come
assignment.

1) Click on the link “Register for Camp” Look for the PLEASE NOTE: Heart Talk is in
September, the Braveheart camp for the kids is in July.
Create a user account, login and fill in the camp form.
*If you know a family that you would consider sharing a cabin with, please let us know at the time of registration. Or, if you would be willing to share any extra space in your room with a volunteer or Heart Talk staff, please indicate as well. This will free space for another family. You can indicate this in the additional comment section while completing your registration profile.

2) Send a $50.00 cheque, payable to the IWK Foundation Heart Talk Trust Fund 2012 to the:

Payment must be received before confirmation of space will be provided.
3) Confirmation of the family registration will be communicated by e-mail or telephone.

Tips for camp:
Bring bedding, cabins have 4 -6 beds in bunk bed style per room. Each large cabin has 5 family rooms and 4 shared washroom facilities.
Bring folding or camping chairs for the camp fire and gathering times.
There is a small fridge in one room of each large cabin for medications.
The camp kitchen offers gluten free food and will be informed of allergies.
